When you’re on Kauai, it’s easy to find things to do that will make Monday the best day of the week. Beat the Monday blues by doing one (or three!) of these four fun activities.
Visit Waimea Canyon
Waimea Canyon has been called “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” This fourteen mile long canyon is full of deep gorges, beautiful waterfalls and craggy peaks. There are many lookout points where you can park your car and admire the scenery. You can also hike the two mile Canyon Trail, which takes you to the top of Waipoo Falls. Along the way, you’ll get numerous stunning views of the canyon. Waimea Canyon tops many Kauai visitors’ to-do lists, and after spending the day there you’ll understand why.
Tour Allerton Garden
Allerton Garden is an 80-acre tropical botanical garden situated on Lāwaʻi Bay. While you’re there, sign up for a guided tour. On this tour, you’ll see the filming locations of Jurassic Park, Starsky and Hutch, South Pacific and Magnum, P.I. You’ll also get to walk through rooms that have unique plants, fountains, miniature waterfalls and sculptures. The peaceful Allerton Garden is the perfect place to spend a warm and sunny Monday.
Take a Helicopter Tour
Take to the skies on a helicopter tour. There are numerous helicopter tours offered throughout Kauai. You’ll get to see all of Kauai’s most breathtaking sites, from “Jurassic Park Falls” in Hanapepe Valley to the rugged Na Pali Coast. Some companies, including Safari Helicopters and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, take you inside the crater on top of ancient Mount Waialeale. After your helicopter tour, you’ll be able to say that you’ve truly seen every inch of Kauai.
Dine at a Highly-Rated Restaurant
At the end of the day, treat yourself to dinner at one of the best restaurants in Kauai. If you’re a sushi fan, try Restaurant Kintaro, which serves up delicious, fresh sushi and other traditional Japanese fare. Or, if you’re looking for somewhere with an ocean-view, head to Oasis. Almost ninety percent of Oasis’s food is locally grown, and they offer a variety of classic fine dining dishes, some of which have a Hawaiian twist. Be sure to save room for one of their seasonal desserts. There’s no better way to end your special Monday than with a meal at one of Kauai’s top restaurants.
Who says Mondays have to be boring? When you do any of these Kauai activities, we’re sure that you’ll have a memorable and exciting day out.
