Biking is a great way to take in the scenery while breathing fresh air and exercising. There are a variety of great paths and trails on Kauaʻi.
On the North Shore – A bike-path on the North Shore runs from the Prince Health Club & Spa and golf club to the Princeville Resort. Ride along both the Prince and Makai golf courses and to the bluff overlooking Hanalei Bay. Or you might enjoy a nice cruise through Hanalei town and the surrounding area.
Mountain Trails – Ask about the Kuilau and Moalepe trails and the jungle hike. Or try the Powerline Trail that runs from the North Shore through the mountains to the East Shore (very strenuous, 13 miles).
Highway Riding – There are a few shoulders and bike paths that line the highway from Kēʻē to Polihale, that make it possible to ride around part of the island.
East Shore – On Kauai’s east side you can find multiple bike rental shops and enjoy a casual ride along Ke Ala Hele Makalae or “the path that goes by the coast”. This multi-use path for pedestrians and bikes extends from the southern end of Wailua to the north end of Keālia, over 7 miles of gorgeous coastline.
South Shore & Kokeʻe – Outfitters Kauai can tell you about the great cane roads behind Mahaʻulepu beach, and recommend the best rides up in Kokeʻe. If you just want to go on a down hill adventure – Outfitters Kauai will take you up to the canyon and send you down to Kekaha.
